Switch SUPERNAP Named as the First and Only Registered Hosting Center for Online Gaming by the Nevada Gaming Commission

LAS VEGAS, May 30, 2013 – Switch, the developer of the renowned SUPERNAPS, the largest, best-designed technology ecosystems in the world, today announced it has been registered as the first and only online gaming hosting center by the Nevada Gaming Commission. The SUPERNAPS are designed and invented by Switch CEO and Founder Rob Roy.

The Nevada Gaming Commission registered the SUPERNAP after conducting rigorous inspections of the facilities and determining it met the stringent requirements necessary to act as an official hosting center for mission critical gaming data. Nevada is breaking ground for online gaming nationally, with new laws allowing online poker passed in February of this year. With location and age restrictions in place—players must be 21 years of age or older and located in Nevada—security of the data and gaming platforms is paramount. With other states such as New Jersey and Delaware looking to follow suit, and interstate agreements already in discussions to enable players from out-of-state to play, Switch is setting the standard for security and connectivity in the online gaming industry for the nation.

SUPERNAPS provide unrivaled colocation, connectivity, cloud and content ecosystems, and represent innovation, security and reliability for more than 600 global clients, from passionate startups to Fortune 100 powerhouses.

“Online gaming is poised for dramatic growth given Nevada’s approval of the industry earlier this year. Switch’s SUPERNAP is the first and only data center in the world with the official seal of approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission,” said Switch Executive Vice President of Colocation Missy Young.

Fueled by Rob Roy’s 218 patented and patent pending claims for data center innovations, Switch is a complete technology engine and team driven toward one purpose: Developing an environment where clients experience the largest, highest density, most secure and energy-efficient data centers ever designed.

Switch clients are from such industries as the retail, healthcare, gaming, entertainment, financial/banking, government, legal, IT, online retail and enterprise markets.
