Sam Castor joined the company as Vice President and Associate General Counsel, assisting Switch with transactional, telecommunications, legislative, regulatory and litigation matters.
Sam is also General Counsel to The Innevation Center, the first public/private economic diversification effort of its kind, bringing together entrepreneurs, business leaders, mentors, investors, educators and government agencies. He is passionate about the mission of The Innevation Center and its goal to diversify Nevada’s economic landscape by empowering education, innovation and encouraging companies to relocate to and grow in Nevada.
Prior to joining Switch in 2011, Sam practiced as a litigator with an emphasis in defense. Sam has had the unique experience of working in every branch of the federal government including the USDA, the FCC and the U.S. District Court, District of Nevada. He also worked at the Office of Science and Technology Policy in the Executive Office of the President for both President Bush and President Obama. Prior to law school Sam worked as a staff assistant and legislative correspondent for Utah Senator Orrin Hatch.
Sam received his undergraduate degree in Communications from Brigham Young University and his law degree from Catholic University of America, with a certificate in Communications Law from the Communications Law Institute. Sam speaks fluent Romanian and Moldavian. He is a trap and skeet enthusiast.
